Issue: | Zombieload and microarchitecture data sampling (MDS) |
---|---|
Status: | InMotion Hosting is aware of the reports. No services are reportedly affected. |
Who is impacted? | All computers and devices with Intel CPU’s are theoretically vulnerable. |
Estimated time until resolution: | Patches from Intel and related vendors will be applied as soon as they become available. |
What are Zombieload and MDS?
Zombieload, along with other types of microarchitecture data sampling (MDS) such as Spectre and Meltdown, have the ability to exploit Intel processors and access sensitive data such as personally identifiable information (PII) from various operating systems including Microsoft, Apple, and Unix.
To address these security flaws, it will require a collaborative effort between Intel and major vendors to implement appropriate software patches.
According to Intel, 8th/9th generation Intel Core processors and the 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processor family have not been affected by these vulnerabilities.
What happens now?
InMotion Hosting is aware of the issue and working to maintain infrastructure security.
